The Pacifica or Voyager, which Chrysler minivan is right for you?

The Voyager Trims

The Voyager is an affordable option for consumers who want a brand-new minivan. It comes in the entry-level L model with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated side exterior mirrors, and power windows and door locks. The LX adds a touring-tuned suspension and automatic headlights.

The Pacifica Trims

The Pacifica starts where the Voyager leaves off. Its entry-level model is the Touring. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, and power-folding and heated side mirrors. The Touring L adds Chrysler’s Stow ‘n Place roof rack, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and driver’s seat memory settings. Step up to the Limited for 18-inch alloy wheels, hands-free sliding side doors, and a hands-free power liftgate, or to the Pinnacle for second-row captain’s chairs, upgraded leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats.

The Power

Power for the Voyager comes from a 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine with 287 horsepower that works with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This serves as the base engine for the Pacifica, but the higher-end model also offers a hybrid option. The Pacifica Hybrid uses a variation of the V-6 and two electric motors. These combine to generate 260 horsepower and can travel up to 32 miles on electric power alone before automatically shifting to hybrid power.

The Technology Features

The Voyager comes with a 7-inch touch screen, a USB port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an auxiliary input, and a 12-volt outlet. The LX offers an optional rear-seat DVD entertainment system with a single screen. The Pacifica Touring starts with a 10.1-inch touch screen, and it adds Amazon Alexa to the infotainment features along with satellite radio as a standard feature. The Pacifica Uconnect Theater Package comes in the high-end Pacifica Pinnacle with two 10-inch screens in the seat backs, a Blu-ray player, HDMI input, and wireless headphones. This model also has a 115-volt outlet and the FamCam interior monitor.

The Safety Features

The Voyager comes standard with a rearview camera and offers several advanced driver aids as options with the SafetyTec Package. The forward-collision warning, automatic braking, blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control that you can get with this package all come standard with the entry-level Pacifica. The high-end Pacifica Pinnacle also comes standard with a self-parking system that works for both parallel and perpendicular spots, front parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system. These features are optional for the lower Pacifica trims but not available for the Voyager.
